A homeowner in Colonia, New Jersey was concerned when their basement was letting water in through the walls. This happens because the poorly compacted, loose soil around the foundation becomes saturated during heavy rainfall. This saturated soil creates hydrostatic pressure which pushes water against the walls and seeps in. A wet basement can have many negative effects such as increased heating and cooling bills, dust mites, and even mold growth. Our foreman, Esau Aquino, installed the WaterGuard Drain System along the perimeter of the wall and on top of the foundation footing. This placement keeps the wet dirt from getting into the drain because the drain does not sit in the mud. Next, the foreman installed the SuperSump Classic System which is a sump pump that will effectively keep the basement dry and pump water out. This sump pump has an airtight enclosed lid that will prevent moisture and water vapor from getting into the basement air. Next, the foreman installed the CarbonArmor System which prevents the wall from leaning in and moving further inward. The straps adhere to a high-strength epoxy resin that deeply infiltrates the carbon and the wall itself.
