A homeowner in Manasquan, New Jersey noticed water seeping into their basement walls and floors. This happens because of the backfilled soil around the home's foundation. Over time, this soil settles and becomes saturated and creates hydrostatic pressure to begin pushing water through the walls. A wet basement has many negative effects such as musty smells, rotting floors, smelly carpets, and mold growth.
The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Jonathan Seminerio, provided an inspection and helped them find a solution to their problem. Upon his inspection, Jonathan noticed the wet basement and suggested they install a a vapor barrier system, a new sump pump, and a French drain system. Our foreman installed the WaterGuard Drain System which sits on top of the foundation footing, preventing the wet dirt from getting into the drain and clogging it. Next, the foreman installed the SuperSump Pump System which is engineered to keep the basement dry and healthy for long periods of time, even during heavy water intrusion. Then, the foreman installed the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System which is thick like a pool liner, provides a vapor barrier, drains water behind it, and dramatically brightens the basement. This system will stop moisture and humidity from entering the basement. Lastly, the foreman installed the IceGuard which is a discharge system that allows water to escape even if the pipe freezes or becomes blocked for any reason.
WaterGuard French Drain System Install
French drain system is installed along the perimeter of the basement to capture any water seepage that can occur from the walls or floor of the basement.
CleanSpace and SuperSump Pump Installation
The SuperSump Pump is installed at the lowest point. The WaterGuard is connected to direct the water seepage directly into the pit to be removed from the basement.
SuperSump Pump Installed With CleanSpace
The SuperSump Pump System has an airtight enclosed lid so moisture cannot get into the basement air. The SuperSump will keep this space dry.
IceGuard Installed
IceGuard has a design that automatically allows water to escape through the openings and provide an exit when the pipes are blocked by ice or snow.
