Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Waterproofing Installation in Toms River, NJ
A homeowner in Toms River, New Jersey noticed water was getting into their basement walls and floors. This can happen because of the loose backfilled soil around the foundation. Over time, this foundation settles and becomes saturated during periods of heavy rainfall which creates hydrostatic pressure, pushing water through the walls and the floors. This can have many negative effects on the health of the home such as dust mites, musty smells, mold growth and increased energy bills.
The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Justin Williams, was able to provide an inspection and help them find a solution to this issue. He suggested they install a French drain system and a new sump pump system. Our foreman installed the WaterGuard Drain System which sits on top of the footing of the foundation to keep the wet dirt from getting into the drain and clogging it. This system also has a drain outlet to the sump pump and will not cause structural damage to the foundation. Next, the foreman installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump System which has three sump pumps in one sump liner. The third pump is a battery operated pump that kicks in if the power goes out. Lastly, the foreman installed the IceGuard which is a discharge liner that allows water to escape even if the pipes freeze or become blocked. Now, the homeowner has a waterproof basement that is protected.
