Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Comprehensive Basement System - Clifton, NJ
A homeowner in Clifton, New Jersey was experiencing water coming in through their basement. This can happen because of the loose soil around the home's foundation. This soil becomes saturated during heavy rainfall and creates hydrostatic pressure, which pushes water through the home's foundation walls and floors. Moisture is the main source of a lot of issues such as mold, dust mites, musty smells, and increased cooling and heating bills.
The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Dane Cuccinello, was able to provide an inspection and help them find a plan. He suggested they install a sump pump system to replace their old one, a dehumidifier, and a French drain system. Our foreman, Esau Aquino, installed the Sump Pump Classic System which will prevent water from getting into the basement. It is engineered to keep the basement dry, even in times of heavy water intrusion. Next, the foreman installed the SaniDry Dehumidifier, which circulates the air in the basement to keep it dry and keep moisture out. Then, the foreman installed the WaterGuard Drain System which is installed below the floor slab and rests on top of the foundation footing. This keeps the system out of the "mud zone" where drains usually clog. The drain system catches water and drains it to the sump pump. Lastly, the foreman installed the IceGuard which allows water to escape through the open airways if the pipes freeze or become blocked. Now, the homeowner's basement is waterproof and protected from water.
Old Sump Pump Before
The existing system could no longer handle the amount of water seepage this basement was experiencing causing it to fail.
WaterGuard Installed
Our French Drain System known as WaterGuard, captures water from the walls and floors and creates a channel for the water to easily flow into the sump pump system.
Super Sump Classic With SaniDry
The SuperSump Classic and Dehumidifier work together to keep the basement dry. The sump pump has an airtight enclosed lid to not only protect the pump inside but also prevent water from evaporating back into the air.
IceGuard Installed
The IceGuard openings are unique and provide an exit for water, even if the pipes freeze or become covered in snow.
