Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Waterproof Installation in Toms RIver, NJ

A homeowner in Toms River, New Jersey reported water coming into their home, as well as their walls starting to bow in and crack. Water can get into the basement during periods of heavy rainfall because the soil becomes saturated. This saturated soil creates hydrostatic pressure that pushes moisture and water through the basement, and this can also cause cracking and bowing in the walls. The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Laszlo Lenkey, helped them with a plan. He suggested they install a new sump pump, as well as a French drain system, and carbon fiber polymer strips to secure the wall. Our foreman, Juan Garcia, installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump System which has three pumps in one twin liner. This pump has an enclosed airtight lid so it prevents any moisture from getting into the basement. The third pump is battery operated and will kick in if the power goes out so it can effectively pump out water. Next, the foreman installed the WaterGuard Drain System along the perimeter of the basement floor. WaterGuard sits under the concrete, on top of the foundation footing, and will catch any water and drain it to the sump pump. The foreman also removed the bottom half of the basement walls since they were water damaged. Lastly, the foreman installed the CarbonArmor System on the walls. These strips will prevent the wall from leaning in or moving further inward. The straps adhere to a high-strength epoxy resin that infiltrates the carbon fiber and the wall itself.
