Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Waterproofing in Kearny, NJ
A resident in Kearny, New Jersey noticed their basement walls and floors were leaking. This happens because of the loose soil around a home's foundation. During periods of heavy rainfall, the soil can become saturated with water, causing hydrostatic pressure that pushes moisture through the basement walls and floors. A wet basement has many negative effects such as mold, musty smells, increased heating and cooling bills, as well as smelly damp carpets.
The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Greg Louis, was able to help them with a plan. He suggested they install a French drain system, a new sump pump, and also a drain to go around their water heater. Our foreman, Juan Garcia, installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump, which has three pumps inside one sump liner. This pump has an airtight enclosed lid, to ensure no moisture gets into the basement. This sump pump will pump water out and away from the home and also has a backup battery-operated pump that kicks in if the power goes out. Next, the foreman installed the WaterGuard Drain System which is installed along the perimeter of the basement floor. It sits under the slab and on top of the foundation footing so it will not clog and stays out of the "mud zone." This drain will catch water and drain it right to the sump pump. Then, the foreman installed the FloodRing around the water heater. This will catch any water and drain it away, to defend the water heater from damage. Lastly, the foreman installed the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, which will circulate the air in the basement and keep everything dry.
WaterGuard Installation Process
After drilling weep holes into the foundation to drain any water out. The WaterGuard French drain System is installed above the footing of this foundation.
WaterGuard and Sump Pump Installation
WaterGuard will ensure that the basement stays dry and protected against water damage. The French drain captures any water seepage from the wall and floor and directs it into the sump pump.
FloodRing Around Water Heater
FloodRing goes around the water heater to prevent water damage. Any flood or leak to the heater will be directed towards the sump pump.
TripleSafe Sump Pump System and SaniDry Dehumidifier
The TripleSafe and SaniDry work together to keep the basement dry and protected from water and moisture from entering the basement. This system will create a healthy environment in this home.
