Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Inadequate Pump Heavy Rain Fix - South Orange, NJ
A resident in South Orange, New Jersey noticed water coming into their basement. Over time, soil settles and becomes saturated during heavy rainfall. This saturated soil causes hydrostatic pressure to push weight on the wall, causing water to seep in. Their sump pump was not able to handle the amount of water seepage this basement was experiencing during the heavy rain. The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Laszlo Lenkey, was able to help them find a solution. He suggested a new waterproofing system.
Our foreman, Esau Aquino, installed the SuperSump Plus System to replace their old one. The SuperSump will pump water out of the basement, and also has an airtight enclosed lid so moisture will not escape into the basement air. The foreman also installed the WaterGuard Drain System which sits on top of the footing to keep the wet dirt from getting into the drain. WaterGuard will catch water and drain it to the sump pump. Lastly, the foreman installed the TrenchDrain around the water heater so any water or condensation would be caught in the drain.
Dirty Old Sump Pump
This sump pump could not provide the protection this basement needed to stay dry during heavy rain.
WaterGuard Installed
We recommended our WaterGuard French Drain System to ensure all water seepage gets directed straight to the sump pump.
TrenchDrain Around Water Heater
TrenchDrain will catch water and condensation from the water heater and send it straight into the new sump pump pit.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
Each of our Sump Pumps has an airtight enclosed lid to ensure no moisture can escape back into the basement air.
