Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Waterproofing in Ridgewood, NJ

A resident in Ridgewood, New Jersey had water coming in through the walls in their basement during periods of heavy rainfall. The cause of this from poorly compacted backfill soil that was used to fill the hole around the foundation. This soil settles overtime and becomes saturated during heavy rainfall. This saturated soil puts hydrostatic pressure on the basement walls and pushes the water through the wall, causing leaking and water seepage in the basement. The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Mike Fiorillo, provided an inspection. He suggested they install a sump pump, a French drain system, a dehumidifier, and a protective ring to go around their water heater. Our foreman, Jonathan Neira, installed the SuperSump Pump System. The sump pump will drain out water and it even has a backup battery to kick in, just in case of heavy rainfall. The foreman also installed the WaterGuard Drainage System, which sits under the concrete slab and on top of the foundation footing. This system will catch any water and drain it to the sump pump. Then, the foreman installed the FloodRing to sit around the water heater. This is a 4 inch high ring that is sealed to the floor, and contains water heater leakage, by draining it to the French drain system. Lastly, the foreman installed the SaniDry XP Dehumidifier which circulates dry air throughout the basement, to keep any moisture out. Now, the homeowner has a basement that is waterproof and will prevent water during heavy rainfall.
