Quality 1st Basement Systems sent out System Design Specialist, Greg Louis to assess the issue and provide a permanent solution. Greg felt a heavy presence of high humidity and moisture in the air. There was a small crawl space entrance in the basement, where cold air would make its way in and keep the floors cold. There was an old sump pump that was sitting in a corner but was not functioning as it should have. Greg recommended having a full waterproofing system and crawl space encapsulation to be installed before any basement finishing project would start.Senior Foreman, Juan Garcia, and his team worked on the basement to fix the problems permanently. Juan and a few team members jack hammered around the perimeter of the basement to make way for the WaterGuard French Drain System. The system is designed to capture water seepage through walls and leaks along the wall/floor joint. The drainage channel is hidden beneath a layer of concrete. Only the top edge of the wall flange is visible, so you will hardly know it's there. The rest of the team was clearing the debris from the crawl space to allow CleanSpace Liner to be installed. CleanSpace is a waterproof and mold-free liner that is installed on the foundation of the crawl space as well as the walls of the basement. SilverGlo is then installed to keep the crawl space insulated from the outside elements. After installing the WaterGuard System, the team installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump System for the ultimate protection. Most sump pumps fail because of either a failed pump, a pump that can't handle high volumes of water, or power failure. The TripleSafe assures protection from all three sump pump problems. A SaniDry XP Dehumidifier was lastly installed to keep the air healthy and dry. The SaniDry removes 10 times the amount of water from the air as a typical dehumidifier, while using the same energy to run. The water drains from the unit automatically so there is no need to empty it like a conventional dehumidifier.The team ran several tests to make sure the pump was working flawlessly without any hiccups. The homeowner was very pleased to know that the basement and crawl space was fully protected from water intrusion. The plans to finish the basement were now able to be started.
