Basement Waterproofing Transformation in Vineland, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Vineland, NJ, was experiencing water intrusion in their basement, with puddles forming on the floor. The exact source of the water was unknown, making it important to address groundwater management throughout the space rather than focus on one isolated area. The basement had an unfinished layout with existing vinyl flooring, which was not the ideal long-term flooring choice for an area experiencing moisture concerns. The homeowner needed a comprehensive waterproofing solution to help manage incoming groundwater while upgrading the flooring to a material better suited for a basement environment.
Solution
Foreman Anthoni and our team at Quality 1st Basement Systems installed a full-perimeter WaterGuard drainage system to collect groundwater entering along the basement foundation and direct it toward the sump pump system. Covering the entire perimeter helps manage water along the foundation rather than addressing only the areas where puddles were visible. We also installed a TripleSafe sump pump system, which features a primary pump, a secondary pump for increased pumping capacity, and a battery-powered backup pump for added protection during power outages. Together, WaterGuard and TripleSafe provide a coordinated approach to collecting and removing groundwater from the basement. Once the waterproofing system was installed, our team replaced the existing vinyl flooring with ThermalDry tile flooring. Designed for basement environments, ThermalDry flooring offers a moisture-resistant alternative to conventional flooring materials. By combining full-perimeter drainage, a multi-level sump pump system, and basement-appropriate flooring, our team provided the homeowner with an improved approach to basement water management and a more suitable finished floor surface.
