Waterproofing a Basement in Avenel, NJ
Challenge
An Avenel, New Jersey homeowner began noticing concerns in the basement and identified a horizontal crack running along one of the foundation walls. Since horizontal cracking can indicate pressure acting against the wall, they wanted to take proactive steps to protect the structure and avoid future damage. Because the home sits on a basement, the homeowner also wanted to make sure any moisture concerns were addressed alongside structural improvements rather than treating the issues separately. Our team evaluated the basement and determined that the best long-term approach would combine foundation stabilization with interior waterproofing. The goal was to reinforce the affected wall while creating a controlled path for any future water intrusion.
Solution
The recommended system included four key components:
- PowerBrace wall supports to reinforce and stabilize the foundation wall
- CleanSpace wall system to create a cleaner finished appearance
- WaterGuard interior drainage system to capture water at the perimeter
- TripleSafe sump pump system for dependable multi-level water removal
Installation began with preparing the basement walls and positioning the PowerBrace system along the affected area to provide structural reinforcement. Once the wall support system was in place, CleanSpace was installed across the wall surfaces to create a bright, clean appearance and support the waterproofing strategy. WaterGuard was then installed around the basement perimeter to collect water before it reached the floor area. Finally, the TripleSafe system was installed to provide reliable water evacuation under varying conditions. The homeowner now has reinforced foundation walls, improved water management, and a basement designed to remain better protected against future structural and moisture concerns.
