Challenge
A homeowner in Woodbridge, NJ began noticing a few concerning issues in their basement. Although there had been no visible water intrusion, the space consistently felt cold and uncomfortable. After a thorough inspection, our team identified two primary concerns. First, the horizontal wall crack indicated that the foundation wall had experienced pressure that could potentially lead to further movement over time. Second, while there was no active water intrusion, the basement would benefit from a modern waterproofing system designed to intercept and manage any future moisture before it became a problem. To provide both structural reinforcement and long-term moisture protection, we recommended a combination of CarbonArmor wall reinforcement, a WaterGuard drainage system, and a TripleSafe sump pump system.
Solution
To address the foundation wall crack, our team installed the CarbonArmor system. CarbonArmor utilizes advanced carbon fiber-reinforced polymers that are bonded directly to the wall surface. These straps are specifically engineered to stabilize foundation walls and help prevent additional inward movement without requiring extensive reconstruction. Next, we installed the WaterGuard drainage system around the basement perimeter. WaterGuard is designed to capture any water entering through the walls or floor-wall joint and direct it toward the sump pump system. Because the system is installed beneath the basement floor surface, it remains hidden from view while providing reliable drainage protection. To complete the waterproofing solution, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump system. The TripleSafe provides multiple layers of protection through three separate pumps, helping safeguard the basement during heavy rainfall, power outages, or unexpected pump failures.
