Persistent Basement Water Intrusion in Newark, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Newark, NJ was experiencing chronic water intrusion in their partially finished basement. With every rainfall, water would enter through both the foundation walls and the basement floor, creating ongoing moisture problems and putting the finished portions of the space at risk. The repeated water exposure raised concerns about damage to flooring, walls, and personal belongings, and made the basement unreliable for regular use. Because the water was entering from multiple points, a comprehensive interior waterproofing approach was needed to properly capture and control groundwater before it could spread throughout the basement.
Solution
To address the issue, our team designed and installed a full-perimeter waterproofing system tailored to the home’s needs. We installed WaterGuard along the basement perimeter to intercept water at the wall and floor joint and direct it safely to a sump system. Our TripleSafe sump pump was added to provide dependable water removal with multiple layers of protection during heavy rains and potential power outages. CleanSpace wall liner was installed along the basement walls to act as a vapor barrier, directing any wall moisture into the WaterGuard system while improving the overall appearance of the basement. Together, these systems now work seamlessly to manage water, reduce moisture, and keep the basement dry and protected year-round.
