Waterproofing in Edgewater, MD for a Healthier, Drier Home

Challenge

This homeowner from Edgewater, MD was struggling with a damp, chilly crawl space that frequently developed musty odors. Despite past attempts to manage moisture, the space remained uncomfortable and at risk for long-term damage. They sought a complete solution that would not only keep the crawl space dry but also improve energy efficiency and protect the home’s foundation.

Solution

The project began with the installation of SaniDry Sedona, a high-performance dehumidifier that consistently lowers humidity levels, preventing mold growth and improving air quality. SilverGlo insulation was added to the walls, brightening the crawl space while creating an energy-efficient thermal barrier to maintain stable temperatures. To manage any water seeping through the foundation, Drainage Matting was installed along the walls to direct moisture safely to the perimeter. CleanSpace vapor barrier sealed the floors and walls, creating a durable defense against ground moisture, while IceGuard protected the sump pump discharge lines from freezing during winter. Finally, LawnScape was installed outside the home to discreetly channel water away from the foundation.

The result was a dramatic transformation. The crawl space became dry, comfortable, and energy-efficient, with humidity effectively controlled and musty odors eliminated. The homeowner now enjoys a healthy, protected living space and the peace of mind that comes from knowing their crawl space, and their home, is safeguarded against moisture year-round.

SaniDry Sedona was placed in a corner of the crawl space to completely dry the air to create a stable and structurally secure environment. Each SaniDry Sedona removes up to 95 pints of water per day.

SilverGlo was installed on the walls to keep the temperature healthy and stable. Drainage matting was laid down to move standing water toward the perimeter drains.

CleanSpace was installed on the walls to keep the moisture and humidity from the walls and floors from filtering into the crawl space and weakening the supports and creating an unstable environment.

LawnScape was installed as an outlet on the lawn to release the floodwater from the crawl space. The grate is green and flat, making it inconspicuous for curb appeal and making landscaping easy.
