Challenge

A homeowner in Holmdel, NJ reached out after noticing water coming into their basement during periods of heavy rain. Over time, what started as occasional dampness had become a persistent problem, with puddles forming along the base of the walls and a noticeable musty odor lingering throughout the space. Upon closer inspection, our Specialist, Mike identified stair-step cracks running along one of the interior block walls: a clear sign of hydrostatic pressure and potential wall movement. The homeowner was understandably concerned about both the water intrusion and the structural integrity of their foundation, especially since they hoped to protect the home’s value long-term. The combination of active leaks, moisture damage, and compromised foundation walls meant this basement required both waterproofing and stabilization to ensure a lasting fix.

Solution

Our system design specialist recommended a comprehensive repair plan to address both the structural and water issues simultaneously. First, our installation team excavated a shallow trench along the basement perimeter to prepare for the WaterGuard interior drainage system. This channel was placed at the footer to intercept any water seeping through the walls or floor and direct it to the new TripleSafe sump pump system, which offers three layers of protection to keep the basement dry under any conditions.

Next, we reinforced the cracked block wall using CarbonArmor wall straps, an advanced, fiber-reinforced polymer system designed to permanently stabilize bowing or cracked foundation walls without intrusive excavation. The CarbonArmor system bonds tightly to the wall surface, providing immediate structural support. Finally, we encapsulated the walls with CleanSpace, a bright, durable vapor barrier that prevents moisture from passing through and gives the basement a clean, finished appearance.
