Waterproofing a Wet Basement in Colts Neck, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Colts Neck had a vision for their unfinished basement: to eventually finish the space and create a comfortable living area. However, heavy rainstorms made that goal impossible. Water was seeping in through the floor and foundation, leaving puddles throughout the space. The damp environment not only created an unusable basement but also posed risks for mold and long-term structural damage. The homeowner needed a permanent waterproofing solution that would handle both floor seepage and wall moisture while preparing the basement for its future transformation.
Solution
To meet this challenge, our team designed a comprehensive waterproofing system. First, we installed our WaterGuard drainage system around the perimeter of the basement to capture water at the point of entry. This system directs any water to the newly installed SuperSump pump system, which safely and efficiently removes it from the home. Next, we addressed wall moisture by lining the foundation walls with CleanSpace vapor barrier, which prevents dampness from passing through while giving the basement a brighter, cleaner appearance. Together, these three solutions ensure the basement will remain dry, healthy, and ready for finishing, turning the homeowner’s long-term vision into a reality.
