Waterproofing a Wet Basement in Spring Lake, NJ
Challenge
A historic Spring Lake, NJ estate featured a basement that, despite its size and potential, was plagued with water issues. Water seeped through the block walls and pooled along the perimeter floor after heavy rains, creating damp, musty conditions. The homeowner wanted a permanent waterproofing solution that would not only protect their home from water damage but also restore the space so it could safely be used for storage or future finishing.
Solution
Our waterproofing System Design Specialist, Tim designed a system that could handle the scale of the estate’s basement while offering long-term protection. The first step was installing the WaterGuard drainage system along the interior perimeter. This system effectively channels groundwater seepage into the sump pump, keeping the basement floor dry.
Next, we installed the TripleSafe sump pump system, which is one of the most reliable solutions available. It includes three pumps in one liner: a primary pump for everyday use, a secondary pump for larger volumes of water, and a battery-powered backup pump in case of power outages. This ensures peace of mind for the homeowner, knowing that their basement will stay dry no matter the weather.
Finally, the walls were lined with BrightWall panels. Not only do these panels brighten the space visually, but they also provide a vapor barrier and direct any wall moisture into the WaterGuard system. This completed the transformation, giving the basement a clean, finished look while eliminating the damp, musty environment.
The homeowner now enjoys a dry, clean basement protected by the industry’s best waterproofing solutions. The once damp and unusable space is now bright and reliable, ensuring the estate remains protected for years to come.
