Basement Waterproofing Solution in Woodbury Heights, NJ

Challenge

A homeowner in Woodbury Heights, NJ, faced ongoing basement water problems that worsened during rainy weather. The basement, built with both concrete and brick foundation walls, was especially vulnerable to water seepage. During storms, moisture would soak through the porous walls, leaving them damp and discolored. In addition, one side of the basement floor would accumulate small amounts of standing water. While the homeowner had been able to mop up water in the past, they grew increasingly concerned about long-term risks like mold, mildew, structural damage, and loss of storage space. Solution

After a full inspection, our System Design Specialist, Jason recommended a three-part waterproofing approach to address the water intrusion. First, we installed our WaterGuard interior drainage system along the wall where water intrusion was most severe. WaterGuard is engineered to collect seepage from both walls and the floor, channeling it out of the basement before it can cause damage. The WaterGuard was directed toward a new SuperSump pump system installed in the corner of the basement. The SuperSump is a reliable, powerful system designed to remove water quickly and keep basements dry even during heavy storms. Finally, we lined the problem wall with our CleanSpace vapor barrier. This durable liner not only gives the basement a brighter, cleaner appearance, but it also prevents wall moisture from entering the space. Any water that does seep through the brick or concrete is directed behind CleanSpace and down into the WaterGuard system.

With WaterGuard, SuperSump, and CleanSpace working together, the homeowner now has a basement that stays dry during rainfall. The musty odor and damp walls are no longer an issue, and the risk of standing water on the floor has been eliminated. The homeowner is relieved to have a permanent waterproofing solution that protects their foundation, their health, and their peace of mind.
