Addressing Water Seepage In Philadelphia, PA Basement
Challenge
A Philadelphia, PA homeowner had been dealing with chronic basement dampness that was beginning to impact the comfort and usability of the space. Water would often seep in during heavy rains, creating musty odors and concerns about long-term structural damage. Seeking a lasting solution, the homeowner contacted Quality 1st for a professional assessment. After a thorough inspection, our team pinpointed the key areas of water intrusion and designed a customized waterproofing system tailored to the home’s specific needs.
Solution
In order to manage and redirect incoming water, we installed our WaterGuard Drainage System around the interior perimeter of the basement. This system efficiently collects wall and floor seepage before it reaches the living area. At the basement entryway, often a trouble spot for surface water, we added a TrenchDrain to intercept water before it could enter the space. All collected water was directed into our TripleSafe Sump Pump System, which includes a primary pump, a secondary pump for heavy volumes, and a battery backup to ensure performance even during power outages. For added protection during winter months, we included our IceGuard Discharge Line to prevent frozen pipes from causing backups. To address moisture at the wall level and give the basement a clean, finished look, we installed CleanSpace Wall Panels, a heavy-duty vapor barrier that protects against wall seepage and channels moisture into the drainage system. To complete the transformation, EverLast Wall Panels were added along the lower portion of the basement walls. These panels are not only visually appealing but also resistant to water, mold, and damage, ensuring the space stays healthy and functional for years to come. With the full system in place, the basement is now dry, protected, and significantly improved in both performance and appearance!
