Basement Waterproofing Solution in Metuchen, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Metuchen, NJ faced recurring water intrusion in their unfinished basement. Water seemed to be seeping in through either the walls or the floor whenever it rained, but with no visible cracks, the exact entry point remained unclear. The dampness was creating a musty environment and leaving the homeowner concerned about long-term damage to the foundation and potential mold growth. With no reliable waterproofing system in place, the family wanted a solution that would keep the basement dry during even the heaviest rainstorms.
Solution
Our team designed a comprehensive waterproofing plan to eliminate the uncertainty and provide full protection. We installed our WaterGuard interior drainage system along the basement perimeter, which collects water at both the floor and wall seams: the two most common entry points. The system channels the water directly to a new TripleSafe sump pump system, ensuring that it’s safely pumped away from the home. The TripleSafe’s three levels of protection, including a battery backup, gave the homeowner confidence that their system would continue working even during storms that cause power outages.
To further reinforce the basement, we lined the walls with the CleanSpace vapor barrier. Not only does CleanSpace prevent water vapor and moisture from passing through, but it also directs any seepage behind the liner into the WaterGuard system below. The bright, clean finish of CleanSpace transformed the unfinished basement, making it brighter and more pleasant.
Thanks to this full system, the homeowner now has peace of mind knowing that their basement is protected from water intrusion no matter the conditions outside.
