Basement Waterproofing and Foundation Repair in Northampton, PA
Challenge
The property manager of a church in Northampton, PA noticed two major concerns in the basement: water seepage during rainstorms and bowing basement walls made of blocks. These issues raised red flags for both safety and the long-term integrity of the building. The basement, used for storage and occasional gatherings, needed a professional solution that wouldn’t disrupt church activities.
After contacting one of our Customer Care Specialists, an appointment was scheduled for a full inspection. One of our experienced System Design Specialists, John arrived onsite and conducted a thorough evaluation. He confirmed that the foundation walls were structurally compromised and water was entering at the wall-floor joint: common signs of hydrostatic pressure buildup and poor drainage.
Solution
We crafted a dual-purpose solution to address both the waterproofing and structural needs of the space:
-
WaterGuard Drainage System was installed around the perimeter of the basement to capture any intruding water and direct it efficiently toward a sump system.
-
TripleSafe Sump Pump System was added to provide triple protection: a primary pump, a secondary pump, and a battery-powered backup to ensure continued operation during power outages.
-
CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcement System was installed to stabilize the bowing block walls. These strong, low-profile straps are made of carbon fiber and adhere directly to the wall surface, preventing further inward movement without the need for invasive construction.
Upon completion, the basement was protected from future water intrusion and the foundation walls were structurally secured. The project restored confidence to the church staff and community that their building was now safe, stable, and ready for continued use. With minimal disruption and a long-lasting solution in place, the church can now focus on serving its community without worry.
