Waterproofing a Wet Basement in Perth Amboy, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Perth Amboy, NJ, was growing increasingly concerned about the musty smell and dampness in their unfinished basement. With moisture lingering in the air and mold beginning to form, the basement was not only uncomfortable: it posed potential risks to the home’s structure and indoor air quality.
After contacting Quality 1st, the homeowner was scheduled for a free inspection with one of our System Design Specialists, Greg. During the inspection, it was clear that the basement was suffering from chronic moisture infiltration and lacked proper drainage and ventilation.
Solution
To resolve these issues, our team proposed a comprehensive waterproofing system. We installed the WaterGuard drainage system around the perimeter of the basement to capture and redirect any water seepage. Beneath the stairs, we installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump system: a high-performance unit with a battery backup for peace of mind during storms and outages.
To seal out wall moisture, we lined the basement walls with our CleanSpace vapor barrier, creating a protective shield against water and humidity. Lastly, to control air quality and manage the lingering dampness, we installed the SaniDry Sedona, a powerful dehumidifier that keeps humidity levels below 55%.
