Faced with increasingly damp conditions throughout their basement, this Brooklyn, NY homeowner grew concerned about the risks of wood rot, structural damage, and potential mold growth. Seeking a permanent solution, they contacted Quality 1st to assess the situation and recommend an effective course of action. Our team conducted a full inspection of the basement, identifying signs of water intrusion through the foundation walls, window wells, and floor seams.

Solution

To address the moisture issues and protect the space long-term, we designed a customized waterproofing strategy tailored to the unique layout and conditions of the home. This included the installation of our patented WaterGuard Drainage System to intercept water at the perimeter of the basement and direct it to a newly installed TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe system offers three levels of pump protection, ensuring consistent operation even during power outages or heavy rainfall. To further control moisture and prevent vapor intrusion, our crew installed CleanSpace Wall Panels, creating a bright, clean, and effective barrier between the foundation walls and the living space. We also installed a Window WellDuct System to manage leaks coming from basement windows, channeling any incoming water directly into the drainage system to prevent pooling and damage. With all of these systems working together, the basement is now fully protected from future water intrusion. The homeowner can now enjoy peace of mind knowing their home is safeguarded against moisture-related issues, with a dry, healthy basement environment that will stand the test of time.
