Garage Waterproofing in Englewood Cliffs, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, was experiencing flooding in their garage during periods of heavy rain. Water seepage was damaging the garage walls and floors, creating ongoing stress and reducing the functionality of the space. Seeking a permanent solution to stop the water intrusion, the homeowner contacted us at Quality 1st Basement Systems.
One of our experienced System Design Specialists, Justin, conducted a thorough evaluation and identified the source of the problem: water was entering through weak points in the foundation, especially near the garage walls and floor joints. Without proper drainage and water management, the issue would likely continue to cause damage.
Solution
To resolve the issue, we recommended and installed our WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system, which is designed to capture water at the wall-floor joint and redirect it away from the structure. Our team, led by our expert Foreman, Wilver excavated a trench around the interior perimeter of the garage footing to make space for the WaterGuard system. Once installed, it was concealed with fresh concrete, leaving only a clean, minimal edge exposed for maintenance.
We also installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump system to handle the collected water efficiently. This system includes three pumps, a primary, secondary, and battery backup, to ensure continued operation during high water volume or power outages. With these systems in place, the garage is now dry, protected, and better prepared for severe weather.
