We recently helped a homeowner in Newark, DE, who was struggling with basement waterproofing issues. After heavy rainfall, their existing French drain system failed to keep up with the water. Our solution included installing WaterGuard, an interior drainage system designed to catch water before it reaches the floor. To complement this, we also installed a TripleSafe Sump Pump, providing triple-layer protection to keep the basement dry, no matter the weather.

We installed our SuperSump sump pump for him which will pump up to 2280 gallons an hour while preventing further water leakage or other outside elements. Our TrenchDrain and WaterGuard systems will capture water seepage and take it to the sump pump so that the basement stays dry even in heavy weather conditions. Finished basement with low painted ceiling in Newark

This was a difficult little job with a wet and damp basement that was very tight. Codes prevented us from installing a drop or drywall ceiling due to the high restrictions.  So we painted it black and it came out great.  We also painted the heating ducts red, which added a nice touch.  We waterproofed the basement first with a SuperSump System and then used inorganic products to make sure that we would not have mold problems in the future.  The customer wanted to do the painting themselves but it still looks amazing.  The change is very dramatic.

Waterproofing a Completely Finished Basement in Hockessin, DE

This house was for sale with a contract but failed inspection due to signs of water seepage and mold spots on the drywall.  No use doing mold remediation until you have eliminated the source of the mold, which was foundation water seepage and high levels of humidity in the basement.  This basement was completely finished with bathrooms and floor coverings.

First we removed all the moldy carpet.  Then we cut the bottom of the wall so we could remove and haul away the moldy drywall.  Then we cut the concrete floor and installed our Waterguard system with TripleSafe Sump to stop the water seepage.  We also installed our SaniDry super dehumidifier.

Next, we re-cemented the floor and reinstallation of the bottom of the walls.  But we would never use drywall for this because drywall is very vulnerable to mold and water damage.  Instead we use TBF Everlast wall, which is non-organic and comes with a 50-year guarantee against water and mold damage.  Then we replaced the flooring with 100% waterproof flooring specifically designed for basements.  The end result is a dry, mold free, beautiful basement.

Wet Basement Turned Into Dry Usable Living Space in Wilmington, DE

This basement was very wet and damp and looked like an un-usable dungeon.  It would be a bad idea to use traditional basement finishing matrials like drywall in this basement because you would have mol din no time.

We first made sure that the basement was waterpoofed with our Wateguard waterpoofing system.  The we used in-organic materials to finish the basement.  TBF everlast walls not only look beautifull, they also com ewith a 50-year guarantee against water or mold damge.  The flooring is also waterpoof and even the ceiling tiles are made of an inorganic material and come with a30 year guarantee.  The space was small but it turned out great.  Can you imagine the difference in home value this job made?

Wet Basement Transformed into a Beautiful, Dry, & Usable Space

This Basement required a waterproofing system with a SuperSump sum pump and Battery backup before we could finish the basement.  We also installed a SaniDry XP Dehumidifier to keep the humidity at a low level, especially to combat the humid summer months.  Once the basement was guaranteed to stay dry, the customer felt comfortable investing the money to transform the space into a finished basement.  The walls are guaranteed against mold or water damage.  The floor is also designed to withstand moisture and has a thermal gap under it which makes it up to 7 degrees warmer. We don’t just finish the basement, we make sure that the right materials are used to prevent mold or damage in the future.

Finished Basement in New Castle, DE

This basement finishing job required a lot of trenching to connect sewage pipes with the injector pit for the bathroom installation. Once that was out of the way, we were able to finish the basement with our Total Basement Finishing EverLast walls and MillCreek flooring systems. Transformed basement in Newark, DE

This Newark basement was a real mess.  The basement looked more like a dungeon and had constant water issues with dampness. We installed WaterGuard around the perimeter with a SuperSump system to take the water out of the house. Then we installed a Trench drain in front of the steps so that water could not come in from the stairwell. A vapor barrier was installed to cover the damp walls and prevent moisture from flowing into the basement. Last but not least, a SaniDry dehumidifier was installed to make sure that the basement air stays below 55% to prevent mold growth.

Crawlspace Encapsulation in Wilmington, DE

This little crawlspace was moldy, damp, and cold.  The problem was that it was vented to the outside which lets cold and wet air into the crawlspace. It also had fiberglass insulation in the ceiling, which is the worst product to install in damp areas. Fiberglass  is organic and will suck the moisture out of the air and then grow mold. The floor was also missing a vapor barrier. This means moisture from the ground can evaporate into the crawlspace. We had the solution; we closed the vent and removed the fiberglass insulation in the ceiling. Then we insulated the perimeter walls with SilverGlow foam board. We also installed Drainage matting and the CleanSpace vapor barrier over the floor. The crawlspace is now t clean, dry, mold and odor free.

Mold and Joist Rotting in Crawlspace in Wilmington, DE

There were several problems with this complicated, multi level, home in Wilmington, DE.

First, the deck boards on the front of the home were painted closed and no longer allowed water to drain in between them.  As a result, the customer would have several inches of rain build up on the deck, which then leaked into the home and caused the lower level drop ceiling to get damaged.  To solve this issue, we had to rip up the old deck boards and replace them with new, pressure treated boards with spaces in between each board so that the water could properly drain.  Problem solved.

There was also a problem with sub-flooring in the basement.  There was no vapout barrier on the dirt floor below the plywood.  This caused a constant moisture problem which resulted in the floor and joist rotting.  We ripped out the old floor and the joist and installed a drainage system along with the CleanSpace Vapor barrier so that the space would be dry.  No more high mosture levels under the floor.   Then we reinstalled the joist and the floor decking.

There was also an adjacent crawlspace with mold all over the joists due to high levels of moisture.  The primary reason for the mold was that the existing vapor barrier was only 6-mill poly plastic, which could not keep the moisture from the ground from leaking into the crawlspace and causing high humidity levels.  We did a full mold remediation job on the whole CralwSpace.  A new SmartSump was installed to make sure we could control water seepage under the vapor barrier.  We installed the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier  to make sure that the ground was properly sealed off.  We also installed the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifer to make sure that the remaining air in the crawlspace would always stay dry.  We spray foamed the ban-board/sil-plate area and some above ground framed walls to keep the cold air out.  We also replaced the old, leaky, crawlspace door with the airtight EverLast door to keep the humid and cold air out.

To finish it off, we repaired the water damaged drop ceiling on the first floor. This job tool about 7 days and came out beautifully.  Most importantly, all the customer problems of mold, rot, high humidity, water seepage and bad insulation have been resolved.

Concrete Walkway Repair in Raritan, NJ

When this homeowner in Raritan, New Jersey walks up to their concrete stairs, they fear that they could trip and fall because it is sinking. This happens because concrete is poured over backfilled soil. Over time, this soil settles and creates voids underneath, which causes it to sink.

The homeowner called Quality 1st Basement Systems to find a solution and our customer service representative matched them with our System Design Specialist, Jack Huber. Jack provided an inspection and suggested they use polyurethane foam to lift the concrete slab.

Our foreman arrived at the job site and began the process of installing the PolyLevel Injection System. This is achieved by drilling small, penny-sized holes into the slab and injecting the foam into the voids. PolyLevel can be installed and safe to walk on within 15 minutes. This is an environmentally friendly, lightweight solution that will not add any weight to the existing soil.

After the job was complete, the homeowner was happy with the outcome and did not experience any other issues with their concrete. They were able to safely walk on their walkway without the concern of tripping or injuring themselves.

Foundation Repair in Gladwyn, PA

A homeowner in Gladwyn, PA discovered their basement walls were bowing inwards. They knew the problem was a sign of foundation failure, so they needed to seek help from a professional. They searched the Internet for possible solutions and discovered Quality 1st Basement Systems. After reviewing their work, the homeowner decided they were the perfect contractor to hire. Our System Design Specialist, Dane, inspected the basement walls. During the inspection, Dane discovered small horizontal cracks running along the walls. Dane presented his findings to the homeowner and recommended the Carbon Armor Reinforcement System.

The Carbon Armor Reinforcement system is designed to stabilize bowing walls. The system consists of thin, flexible straps made of durable carbon material. Each strap is applied to the wall, using a strong epoxy resin, and will prevent the wall from bowing further. Overall, the system is ten times stronger than steel.

The installation process was a success and the basement wall has been permanently stabilized. The homeowner was very happy with the results!

Sagging Floor Repair in Newtown, PA

A Newtown, PA homeowner noticed the first level of their home was sagging. They couldn't find the source of the problem, so they needed to seek help from a professional. After searching the Internet for solutions, the homeowner came across Quality 1st Basement Systems. Learning the company offers free estimates, the homeowner immediately contacted them to set one up.

We provided a thorough inspection of the home and found the cause of the problem was a weak crawl space beam supporting the floors. Older homes contain a crawl space where its wooden beam supports the above floors. Over time, the beam begins to weaken and cause the floors to sag. We knew the SmartJack Crawl Space Support System would be the best solution for the home. SmartJacks are designed to support sagging crawl space beams and restore straightness to the above floors.

A few weeks later, our crew arrived at the home and installed the system. Since the installation, the homeowner has not experienced any sagging floors in their home, thus restoring their peace of mind.

Musty Smells in Crawl Space in Wilmington, DE

When a homeowner in Wilmington, DE, contacted us about a persistent musty smell and cool floors, especially noticeable after the rain, we knew we faced a familiar challenge. Like many homes in the region, their new property was suffering from an inadequately protected crawlspace, a common issue that can impact comfort, air quality, and energy efficiency in homes. Following an inspection by one of our experienced System Design Specialists, the root of the problem was clear: moisture infiltration had created an ideal setting for mold growth, contributing to air quality issues inside the home. To tackle this, we recommended our CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system alongside SilverGlo insulation panels. CleanSpace is designed to create a thick, durable barrier against moisture and air, effectively sealing off the space from earth damp, while SilverGlo helps to insulate the crawlspace, reflecting heat back into the space and ensuring that floors above remain warm and energy bills get a break. Our production team jumped into action, first cleaning and preparing the crawlspace, subsequently laying down the CleanSpace liner, and installing SilverGlo panels with precision. The process not only requires thorough technical expertise but also a sensitivity to the homeowner's daily life, ensuring that our work was carried out carefully and cleaned up promptly, reducing hassle and stress. The outcome was a transformed crawlspace - dry, insulated, and free of musty smells.

Wilmington, DE Crawl Space Encapsulation

When a homeowner in Wilmington, Delaware reached out to Quality 1st Basement Systems, they were dealing with a range of dampness issues in their unfinished basement and crawl space. Heavy rains frequently caused water to pool in the crawl space, leaving the concrete floor damp and allowing mold to start forming on the walls. While they already had a sump pump, they weren’t confident it was effectively handling the water or keeping the space as dry as it should be.

We knew this type of situation required a comprehensive approach to address the water intrusion and protect their home long-term. After a full assessment, our team recommended a CleanSpace encapsulation system with drainage matting for the crawl space to seal it off and prevent future moisture build-up. To tackle the existing mold, we used our specialized Mold-X treatment to safely and thoroughly treat affected surfaces. To manage humidity levels, we installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, ensuring that the air quality remained healthy and mold wouldn’t make a return. We also applied our CarbonArmor spray foam insulation to seal any cracks and help with energy efficiency. By the end, the crawl space and basement were completely transformed, creating a cleaner, healthier environment for the homeowner.

Wilmington, Delaware - Basement Water Intrusion Solutions

A homeowner in Wilmington, Delaware, reached out to us at Quality 1st Basement Systems, frustrated by water constantly seeping into one corner of her basement. Every time it rained heavily, she said, the water would pool near the wall and almost flood the area. Our team inspected the situation thoroughly, noting the water pathways and areas of weakness. We determined that the best approach would be to install a WaterGuard system, a CleanSpace Wally 36-inch liner, and a CleanSpace encapsulation system for the crawl space.

The WaterGuard system is a key solution here, acting as an underground drainage track that catches water before it can reach the basement floor. By guiding the water toward a sump pump, it keeps the space dry and prevents flooding. We also installed a CleanSpace Wally 36-inch, a durable liner that protects the basement walls from moisture while improving air quality. For additional protection, we extended CleanSpace encapsulation into the crawl space, which acts as a powerful barrier against outside humidity and moisture.

With all these systems in place, the basement is now fully protected, and the homeowner is relieved to have a dry, secure space, rain or shine.

The moisture would infiltrate through the dirt floor, leaving the crawl space damp and creating an environment perfect for mold and mildew to thrive. Over time, the homeowner began to notice a musty odor seeping into the rest of the home, and the wood beams in the crawl space were showing signs of moisture damage and rot. Addressing Water Seepage In Wilmington, DE Basement

In Wilmington, DE, a homeowner was facing recurring water seepage in their basement, especially during heavy rainfall. The water would seep through the foundation, creating damp, musty conditions that led to growing concerns about mold, mildew, and long-term structural damage. The homeowner was frustrated with the ongoing issue, and the basement was no longer a usable space due to the persistent moisture. Concerned about the potential damage to both the basement and the overall indoor air quality, they decided to contact Quality 1st Basement Systems for a reliable, long-term solution.

After performing a thorough inspection, our team recommended a comprehensive waterproofing system tailored to the homeowner's specific needs. We began by installing our patented WaterGuard Drainage System, a high-performance solution designed to capture water at the foundation’s wall-floor joint. WaterGuard directs the water away from the basement, preventing further seepage into the space. This system was a key part of the solution, as it ensured water was intercepted early and efficiently directed toward a sump pump for removal.

To enhance the water protection, we added CleanSpace Wall Panels to the foundation walls. These durable, mold-resistant panels act as a vapor barrier, sealing out moisture from the walls and preventing humidity from entering the basement. Not only do they help keep the space dry, but they also give the basement a clean, bright appearance, transforming it into a more pleasant and usable environment. The CleanSpace system works in tandem with WaterGuard, effectively guiding any moisture directly to the drainage system below.

To complete the waterproofing system, we installed our IceGuard Discharge Line, which plays an essential role in colder months. They contacted Quality 1st in hopes of implementing a reliable and permanent solution.

Our team promptly scheduled an on-site inspection to assess the extent of the moisture problems and identify the best course of action. This issue became more prominent during and after several periods of heavy rainfall, which overwhelmed the property’s inadequate drainage support. As the problem worsened, the basement began to show signs of dampness and musty odors, creating an uncomfortable and unhealthy environment. Concerned about the potential for long-term damage and mold growth, the homeowner reached out to Quality 1st in search of a long-lasting and effective solution.

After receiving the call, our team quickly scheduled a thorough on-site inspection to assess the situation. Upon close examination, we discovered that the water intrusion stemmed from hydrostatic pressure beneath the foundation, compounded by the absence of a reliable drainage system. Based on our findings, we developed a customized waterproofing plan tailored specifically to the needs of this home. Our proposal included the installation of three key components, our WaterGuard Drainage System, TripleSafe Sump Pump, and our innovative ThermalDry Basement Sub-Floor Matting.

The WaterGuard Drainage System was installed around the interior perimeter of the basement to intercept and channel any groundwater directly to the sump pump system. The TripleSafe Sump Pump, known for its triple-pump design, was placed in the lowest point of the basement to ensure consistent and dependable water removal, even in the event of a power outage. To further protect the space and improve its usability, we laid down ThermalDry Basement Sub-Floor Matting, which provides insulation from cold concrete floors while also allowing moisture to escape, preventing it from being trapped beneath the surface.

Once the full waterproofing system was installed, the basement was successfully restored to a dry, healthy, and comfortable condition. The homeowner expressed immense relief knowing their basement would remain protected regardless of future storms. With the combined effectiveness of our WaterGuard, TripleSafe, and ThermalDry systems, Quality 1st delivered not only peace of mind but also a durable, long-term solution tailored to the unique challenges of this home.

This Newark, DE, homeowner had been dealing with a frustrating and persistent issue: water regularly seeping into their basement, making the space damp, musty, and unusable. The primary culprits were a leaky basement window that allowed rainwater to enter during storms and an outdated sump pump that couldn’t keep up with the water load. Concerns over worsening basement conditions led a Bear, DE homeowner to reach out to Quality 1st. They had noticed recurring water seepage, musty odors, and signs of foundation settlement such as uneven floors and cracks in the walls. These symptoms raised red flags about potential structural damage and mold development, issues that, if left unaddressed, could jeopardize both the value and safety of the home. The homeowner sought a comprehensive solution that would resolve both the water intrusion and the structural instability once and for all.

Our team conducted a full inspection of the basement, identifying two primary causes of concern: groundwater entering at the wall-floor joint and significant weakening of floor joists due to foundation settlement. Our crew installed the SmartJack Support System beneath key load-bearing areas to stabilize the floor joists and beams. These galvanized steel supports are fully adjustable and designed to permanently lift and reinforce sagging floors, restoring the structural integrity of the basement. To protect the interior walls from moisture and vapor infiltration, we installed CleanSpace Wall Panels, durable, waterproof panels that guide any wall seepage into the drainage system while also brightening the basement with a clean, finished look.

This Wilmington, DE homeowner had been noticing a persistent dampness in the air and moisture forming around the edges of their basement floor, signs that something bigger was brewing beneath the surface. Recognizing the potential damage that water intrusion could inflict on their home’s foundation and air quality, the homeowner reached out to us for a professional assessment.

Basement Waterproofing Solution In Newark, DE

Persistent moisture and musty odors in the basement of a Newark, DE home began raising red flags for the homeowner, who had long overlooked the subtle signs of water intrusion. Over time, these issues escalated, leading to visible signs of wear on walls and flooring, and sparking concerns about long-term structural integrity and potential mold growth. Waterproofing a Leaky Basement in Wilmington, DE

A partially finished basement in Wilmington was showing signs of water seeping through the block walls, creating damp spots and the potential for long-term damage. The homeowners had noticed water appearing during heavy rains, but they weren’t sure of the source or the severity of the problem. Even a small amount of seepage can compromise finishes, promote mold growth, and affect indoor air quality, so they wanted a permanent solution that would protect both the basement and the home above. Tackling Concrete Settlement Concerns In Newark, DE

Faced with the dual challenge of declining aesthetics and increasing safety risks, a homeowner in Newark, DE, grew concerned as the concrete slabs surrounding their backyard patio began to noticeably sink and settle over time. This unwelcome development created significant tripping hazards and severely detracted from the home's overall curb appeal, prompting them to seek a lasting, professional fix from Quality 1st. Upon a thorough assessment, our expert team quickly identified that erosion and poor sub-base preparation were the precise causes of the concrete settlement. This clear diagnosis allowed us to engineer a tailored repair strategy centered on the application of our patented PolyLevel Foam Injections.

The PolyLevel installation process is designed for precision and minimal disruption. Our certified crew first strategically drilled multiple, small injection ports, each only about the size of a penny, across the affected sections of the patio to create necessary access points. Next, we injected the high-density polyurethane foam through these ports. This material expands rapidly, and our technicians carefully monitored the lift in real-time until the concrete was raised back to its original, level position. Crucially, the expanding foam simultaneously fills the underlying voids and permanently stabilizes the supporting soil, addressing the root cause of the settlement without adding significant weight.

The finished patio is now fully level, safe, and restored with minimal visual evidence of the repair, thanks to the meticulous patching of the injection holes. Because PolyLevel is waterproof, non-toxic, and incredibly durable, it provides a permanent fix that will not wash out or degrade.

By stabilizing the slab and eliminating the liability risk, Quality 1st ensured the homeowner avoided the immense cost, mess, and extensive downtime associated with a full concrete tear-out and replacement, with the surface ready for full use almost immediately after completion!

Basement Water Seepage Solution In Newark, DE

This Newark, DE, homeowner became overwhelmingly concerned about ongoing moisture intrusion that was transforming their lower level into a severely damp and dreary environment. The persistent water damage threatened structural integrity, spurred the growth of mold and mildew, and compromised the home's overall indoor air quality. Recognizing the severe risks involved, the client promptly sought out a permanent, professional waterproofing solution from Quality 1st. Following this crucial decision, our team conducted an extensive, multi-point assessment to pinpoint the exact sources of the water seepage, allowing us to design a comprehensive, customized defense strategy.

The tailored strategy focused on capturing and managing all forms of water intrusion. To combat hydrostatic pressure and seepage through the wall/floor joint, we installed our WaterGuard Drainage System, strategically placing it above the footer to remain free of mud and debris. This system works continuously to capture water and direct it toward the sump pump. Furthermore, to handle surface flow from exterior entryways, our TrenchDrain System was installed across the basement doorway. This grated, in-floor catch basin intercepts large volumes of rushing water, diverting it into the WaterGuard system before it can reach the main floor.

To ensure that the collected water is reliably ejected from the home, we installed our patented TripleSafe Sump Pump System. This system provides the homeowner with the ultimate defense through its layered design: a powerful primary pump for daily water removal, a secondary high-volume pump that activates during intense weather, and a long-lasting, battery-powered third pump that provides continuous protection during power outages. To secure the system’s function year-round, we also installed our IceGuard Discharge Line. This exterior fitting acts as a crucial pressure relief valve, ensuring the sump pump can safely eject water even if the main discharge line becomes frozen or clogged.

Thanks to the integration of the WaterGuard, TrenchDrain, TripleSafe, and IceGuard systems, Quality 1st successfully eliminated the homeowners' moisture concerns. We were able to restore the basement to a dry, clean, and healthy condition, safeguarding the home against future water damage, mold growth, and structural depreciation.
