Quality 1st Basements Case Studies: Wall Anchor System in North Brunswick, NJ

Friday, July 24th, 2015 by Sarah Gozick

The homeowners of this North Brunswick home noticed large, horizontal cracks on their foundation walls. The walls were bowing in, creating an unsafe environment for their family. Afraid of what may happen to the house, the homeowners called Quality 1st Basement Systems to inspect the property. Inspector Collin Peare measured the cracks – they were 1- 2 inches long, running the entire span the back and right walls. The walls had already bowed 3 inches, and were at danger of bowing more.

Quality 1st Basement Systems installed Geo-Lock Anchors. The Geo-Lock Anchor System permanently stabilizes basement walls and straightens out bowing. They are made out of heavy-duty, galvanized steel. Once embedded into stable soil, they are connected to steel wall plates with steel rods. The anchors hold the wall in place, safely and securely. The Geo-Lock Anchor system is able to be tightened when the property soil shrinks during dry periods.

The Geo-Lock Anchor system is effective and comes with a 25 year transferable warranty that promises house walls will not bow or tilt in any further. Quality 1st Basement Systems can install Geo-Lock Anchors year round, with minimal disturbance to landscaping and lawns. Now this home is safe to live in, and the family feels secure. The walls will never collapse, and the homeowners and their children can rest easy.
