Crawl Space Solution in East Brunswick, NJ

Challenge

This homeowner in East Brunswick, New Jersey noticed their dirt crawl space was attracting moisture and musty smells. This can happen when a crawl space is not sealed from the earth's elements. Soil and dirt can hold a lot of moisture and cause water vapor to rise into the air and create issues within your home. These issues could be smelly carpets, rotting wood, signs of mold growth, and increased energy bills.

Solution

The homeowner did not want this problem to go without a solution, so they contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems. Our customer care representative booked them an appointment with our System Design Specialist, JC Gibriano. JC arrived at the home a few days later and provided an inspection and suggested they encapsulate the space. Our foreman began by installing our Drainage Matting to rest directly on the crawl space floor. Drainage matting will catch any water and drain it to the sump pump to prevent water from coming up through the floors. Next, we installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System which is thick and durable like a pool liner and is also waterproof and mold-proof. This is done by removing debris and rocks, and leveling uneven surfaces. CleanSpace is carefully fitted to the crawl space and kept in place with drilled-in spikes and fasteners. Since the installation, the homeowner has not noticed any water in their crawl space and they have a dry and healthy space for storage!
