Long Branch, NJ homeowner was experiencing sinking slabs in her backyard patio for years but ignored the problem since she didn't want to replace the entire patio area for it would no longer match the concrete around her pool. One day she received TheHomeMag magazine and flipping through noticed Quality 1st Basements' Sinking Concrete Ad. Immediately going to the website she was able to not only see before and afters of similar situations like hers, but also videos and reviews on the PolyLevel system used to raise the slabs. She called right away for a free estimate appointment.
Concrete Repair Specialist, Jeff Pitek, did a full inspection of the patio area and measured a few slabs sinking roughly an inch or two but one slab near the deck had almost 5 inches of settlement! Jeff explained that the tripping hazard could cause a serious injury if someone were to trip. He explained that over time, the soil underneath the patio area can no longer hold the weight of the concrete and begins to sink and settle causing the slabs to no longer be even. Removing and replacing the patio is an option but would cost a large amount and the concrete would no longer match. Using special equipment, PolyLevel foam is injected underneath each slab, filling that void. Once the void is completely filled the PolyLevel begins to raise each slab back to its desired level hardening for permanent stability. Within just 15 minutes of our PolyLevel team completing the installation, the Long Branch homeowner could finally put her patio furniture back outside and use her patio!
Every new homeowners nightmare is to get water in their basement only a short time after purchasing their home. Tod and his wife had just recently purchased their second home in Long Branch, NJ when just one month after moving in, they discovered a puddle of water in their basement. Luckily Quality 1st Basements was able to send System Design Specialist, Kenny T out to inspect the basement and design a solution that best fit the water problems they were experiencing. Kenny T explained that the main reason a basement leaks is because of footing drain failure. This is when the soil around the outside of the foundation can't drain and becomes saturated. The weight of the water in the soil creates hydrostatic pressure and pushes the water into the basement through either the joint between the footing and the wall, cracks or under the footing. He recommended a waterproofing system consisting of WaterGuard drainage system, a SuperSump Pump with an Ultra Battery Backup System, and a SaniDry Dehumidifier be installed to prevent future water leaks and possible flooding.
Quality 1st Basements installed a WaterGuard drainage system above the footing, out of the "mud zone" so that the WaterGuard will never clog or get debris stuck inside. Our WaterGuard system creates a small wall gap to catch water seepage from the walls. WaterGuard collects the water and directs it to the SuperPump pump. The SumpPump is only part of the Sump Pump system. Our Super Sump pump has a sump liner, an airtight sump lid, a floor drain in the sump lid, a pump stand, and a pump alarm. Since many water issues are cause by severe weather storms that can cause power outages, it's always good to have a backup battery system which is exactly why Tod and his wife wanted the UltraSump Battery Backup System that would automatically kick in and begin removing water if the power were to knock out.
Quality 1st Basements was able to give Tod and his wife peace of mind now that their basement is protected.
Brady, a homeowner in Long Branch, NJ contacted Quality 1st Basements when he was in his crawl space and noticed moisture on his pipes and could feel the high humidity. The crawl space had become a nasty area underneath his home. Looking to fix the problem and create a dryer and cleaner space, he looked to quality 1st for a solution. System Design Specialist, Laszlo Lenkey, did a full inspection of the crawl space and then sat down with Brady to discuss why his crawl space had become this hot and nasty space and a solution that he himself would design right then and there for his crawl space.
Laszlo explained that the crawl space vents were allowing that hot humid air into his crawl space and with air comes moisture. It is obvious that warm air holds a lot more moisture then cold and so in the summer time, your crawl space is fighting that heat, the water and the pests that travel into the crawl space. High humidity causes rotting, mold and loss of energy.
Laszlo suggested encapsulation! By encapsulating the crawl space, we are sealing off water flooding and leaks, moisture, mold and any pests that could get inside. To do this we install a moisture vapor barrier known as CleanSpace, to the walls and floor of the crawl space. CleanSpace is a pool like liner, that will prevent water leaks and water vapor from seeping through. Each crawl space vent is sealed tight with a crawl space vent cover and a Sedona Dehumidifier to circulate dry air throughout the entire space.
Brady was amazed at not only how bright and clean his crawl space was but also how dry!
On the first hot day of summer, Long Branch, NJ homeowner Tom, removed his pool cover and noticed up to 8 slabs had settled. Over the winter the soil underneath could no longer hold the weight of the concrete slab, therefore sinking causing the gaps and the tripping hazards around his pool area. With his daughters graduation party in a few short weeks he needed to get the concrete fixed right away.
Searching on Google for a solution, Tom came across before and after pictures on the Quality 1st Basements website of pool slabs similar to his raised and leveled with PolyLevel. Reading that PolyLevel is a clean installation and causes no disturbance to the surrounding area, Tom called right away knowing this is the exact solution he had been looking for. Customer Service Representative, Keashan, was able to schedule Tom a free estimate appointment with concrete Repair Specialist Andy Gagliardi. Andy did a full inspection of the pool deck and marked 9 total slabs had settled causing 1 inch gap and almost 3 inches of settlement creating a very large trip hazard right by his diving board. Andy explained that all these slabs could be lifted with a Polyurethane Foam known as PolyLevel. He reassured Tom the installed is done all in one day and within just 15 minutes the slabs could be walked on or driven over that's how stabilized they would be. Tom was relieved not only that his slabs could be raised but that the project wouldn't effect his daughters graduation party.
Quality 1st Foreman, Arturo and his crew were able to raise each individual slab back to its original state, leveling the entire pool deck area. Arturo did a full walk through around the pool area to make sure all furniture and pool equipment were away from the area for the crew to have a cleared work space. Once the space was ready, his team began to drill small penny-size holes into each sinking slab. Using special equipment, PolyLevel was injected underneath the slab filling the void underneath that caused the settlement. Once the void is filled, the PolyLevel foam begins to harden raising the slab back to level, permanently stabilizing the pool deck area. Tom was very happy that his pool no longer had the eye sore of tripping hazards and now had peace of mind knowing the tripping hazards were removed in time.
Foundation failure is a scary problem for any homeowner. One of the biggest things about foundations is the lack of information homeowners have about their foundation and why its cracked or settling. Luckily for the homeowners in Long Branch, NJ they knew exactly who to call for an estimate on their failing foundation, Quality 1st Basements. System Design Specialist, Jeff Nero, met with John and Mary to inspect the foundation of their home, explain the causes of foundation failure and design a solution that best stabilized their home. Jeff noticed several staircase cracks along the basement walls. Two of the cracks were so large that the natural sunlight from outside began to shine through.
After a full walkthrough inspection with John and Mary, they sat down to discuss the causes of staircase cracks and the best solution offered by Quality 1st Basements. Jeff explained that stair-step cracking is a common symptom of foundation settlement. When the home begins to settle, vertical cracks form and begin to widen as the wall rotates. A foundation will settle when the soil underneath the home can no longer hold the weight. This will cause the home to shift and the foundation to crack. Jeff recommended Push Piers, since they reach deep into the ground to the stable soil to ensure permanent stability for the foundation. Push Piers never rust and the installation is less invasive to the area of the home. Over time it can often lift the foundation back towards its original position. John and Mary knew right away they wanted Quality 1st Basements to permanently stabilize their foundation, gives them peace of mind, and of course protect their biggest investment, their home!
Quality 1st Foreman, Jonathan Neira and his team installed 8 Push Piers along the foundation of the home where the foundation was cracking. During the halfway point of the installation, Jonathan did a walk through with both John and Mary to keep them up to date on the progress and give them a rough estimate of completion. Once the project was the complete and the final walk through was finished, Jonathan and his team left no trace of a project ever being done. The property was clean, the homeowners were happy and Quality 1st had two new satisfied customers!

Quality 1st Foreman, Wilver, and his crew encapsulated the entire crawlspace to prevent any future water from leaking inside. CleanSpace Vapor Barrier was installed to the walls and floor of the crawl space to seal it off from pests, water and moisture. A SmartSump pump, which is specifically designed for the crawl space, was installed to work with our WaterGuard Drainage System. Both work together to collect the water seeping in and direct it to the Smart SumpPump, which then pumps the water out and away from the home.
Now that this crawl space is dry, Mary can enjoy her new home without a worry and she too refers Quality 1st Basements.
A homeowner living in the beautiful area of Long Branch was experiencing sinking slabs in the driveway, creating multiple tripping hazards. Upon inspection, Andy Gagliardi noticed that the driveway was settled roughly 4 inches in some areas, with up to 6 inches of settlement in others.
Foreman, Arturo, and his crew drilled small, penny-size holes into each settled slab. Using special technology, PolyLevel foam is injected underneath to lift the sinking slab. PolyLevel expands underneath the entire slab and then begins to harden, raising it back to its original state. The homeowner was amazed to see his tripping hazards removed in just 15 minutes! The installation caused no disturbance to the surrounding area of his driveway and within 20 minutes of completion, the homeowner was able to move his car back into the driveway.
The excitement that comes with purchasing a new home is unmatched. Imagine, however, that during a heavy rain, you notice the basement in your dream home starting to accumulate water. A homeowner in Long Branch found himself in such a situation. He contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems to schedule a free estimate from a company with expertise in waterproofing.
One of Quality 1st’s waterproofing specialists, Dan McNally, proposed a waterproofing system tailored to meet the homeowner’s basement waterproofing needs. He included a full-perimeter WaterGuard system, both an UltraSump and SuperSump sump pump, and a FloodRing. The WaterGuard is a sub-floor drainage system which directs wall seepage to the pumps for discharge. Installation of a FloodRing around the water heater is a preventative measure to contain any water leakage and direct it to the WaterGuard.
With the efficient waterproofing system installed by a production crew, the new homeowner was surely happy that Quality 1st Basement Systems helped alleviate his worries about water in his basement!
