Burlington, NJ homeowner reached out to us because they noticed the floor above their crawlspace had a horizontal cracks and was continuously expanding at a 45 degree angle. We sent Senior Foundation Specialist, Jeff Nero out to inspect the crawl space to see what structural foundation issues were causing the floor to crack and settle.

Jeff noticed the crawl space beams were sagging causing the floor to shift and cracks to form. He suggested SmartJack Stabilizers be installed underneath the beams to provide additional support. These SmartJack Stabilizers can be adjusted to gradually lift the crawl space beams back towards their original state. This system will also prevent future settlement and structural damage.

Job Stories From Burlington, NJ
Sidewalk Repair in Burlington, NJ

This homeowner in Burlington, New Jersey noticed their concrete sidewalk was becoming unlevel and cracking. If this goes without repair, the uneven sidewalk could pose a major tripping hazard and someone could injure themselves. This occurs when concrete is poured over backfilled soil. Over time, this soil settles and creates voids in the soil beneath the concrete.

The homeowner did not want to let this issue go without a resolution, so they contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems. Our customer service representative booked them an appointment with our System Design Specialist, Bill Paterno. Bill provided an inspection and suggested they use polyurethane foam to lift and level the concrete to its original position.

A couple of days later, our foreman arrived at the job site and began installed the PolyLevel Injection System. This is done by drilling small, penny-sized holes into the concrete and injecting the foam into the voids underneath. This will be repeated until the concrete is brought to a level position. Within 20 minutes, the concrete will be lifted and safe to walk on again. PolyLevel is a lightweight, environmentally friendly solution that will not wash out and is waterproof.

When the job was complete, the homeowner was happy with the results. They did not have a concern about injuring themselves on their sidewalk anymore!

Wet Crawl Space Sealed in Burlington, NJ

A homeowner in Burlington, New Jersey noticed water and moisture getting into their crawl space. This can happen because of the poorly compacted soil around the foundation. Over time, this soil becomes saturated during heavy rainfall, creating hydrostatic pressure which pushes water through the walls and floors in the crawl space. A wet crawl space can have many negative effects such as dust mites, pests, increased energy bills, and even mold growth.

The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems after seeing our ads on Facebook, and our System Design Specialist, Javier Romero, was able to provide an inspection of the home. Upon his inspection, Javier noticed the moisture in the crawl space and he suggested they encapsulate the crawl space to seal it from the earth's elements.

Our foreman installed the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System which is thick and durable like a pool liner. This process is done by removing debris, dirt, and leveling uneven surfaces. Then, the liner is carefully placed throughout the crawl space and is secured with drilled-in fasteners and spikes. The CleanSpace Vapor Barrier will ensure that moisture and water stay out, and the crawl space stays dry.

When the job was complete, the homeowner was pleased with the finished outcome. Now, the homeowner has a usable space for storage, and they no longer have to worry about moisture in their crawl space.

Driveway Repair in Burlington, NJ

A homeowner in Burlington, NJ has been living in his home for over thirty years and has never done any home repairs. One day, he noticed that his driveway looked uneven. The homeowner did not think that there was anything seriously wrong with this, so he went on with his day. The next morning, the homeowner was leaving for work, and he tripped on the uneven slabs. He called Quality 1st Basement Systems and scheduled an appointment for his driveway to be repaired.

By the next week, our design specialist, and crew repaired the homeowner's driveway. Instead of mudjacking, our crew used the Polylevel System, a state of the arch approach to repair the uneven slabs. Our crew first dilled small holes into the slabs and injected structural grade polymers into the empty void. Once the void has been filled, the expansion of the polyurethane lifted the slabs to their proper height. Our crew repeated this method until the entire driveway was complete.

Since his driveway has been fully repaired, the homeowner did not have any accidents and problems. He has been fully satisfied since then.

Concrete Driveway Raising in Burlington County, NJ

Quality 1st Basements raised a concrete driveway back towards it's original level, permanently stabilizing it to prevent future sinking and settling.

A Burlington, NJ homeowner had a concrete driveway that had settled causing trip hazards in multiple spots of the driveway. With the concrete being uneven, water would pool trapping the water in the driveway. The homeowner wanted to remove the trip hazards and raise the driveway back to level to allow water to flow straight into the grass.

Concrete Repair Specialist, Andy, explained that the soil beneath the slab was not strong enough to support the weight of the driveway causing it to sink. He recommended our team inject PolyLevel foam underneath to raise the concrete slab, and provide additional support to the concrete. PolyLevel is waterproof and environmentally friendly! It is a quick and clean installation and allows you to walk on the slab instantly once raised.

Our team came in drilled small penny-size holes into the concrete slabs. Using special equipment, PolyLevel is injected underneath the sinking slab. The foam expands, filling all the voids and raising the slab. Once the slab is at it's desired level, our team stops injecting and allows a few minutes for the PolyLevel foam to harden. Now the slabs are permanently raised and stabilized.

Creating a Drier Basement in Burlington, NJ

Homeowner Kristofer from Burlington had a tenant in the livable basement space, but he also found that he had a water problem there.  The tenant indicated that water was coming up through the floor, getting the carpeting wet.

Kristofer searched the internet and found that Quality 1st Basement Systems might be just the help he needed.  Waterproofing specialist Maurice Robinson visited the homeowner, inspected the basement, and designed a solution.

Project Manager Melvin Cardoza headed a crew to install the WaterGuard System along the basement walls and a SuperSump sump pump to discharge any water that seeps into the WaterGuard.  This combination was supplemented with the FlexiSpan crack repair system to provide an effective, permanent solution to block water intrusion through the vertical crack found on one wall.  Additionally, the crew installed an IceGuard (designed to prevent flooding in the event of frozen discharge pipes) and a LawnScape outlet (to disperse discharge water away from the house and onto the lawn).  Quality 1st Basement Systems helped to create a drier basement, providing relief for both the homeowner and the tenant, too!
