This Randolph homeowner's 10 year old pool had some gaps between the pool coping and deck. Some of the concrete slabs were settling, making it a dangerous and unattractive area to swim. Quality 1st Basement systems injected PolyLEVEL, which raised the concrete up to an even position. PolyLEVEL hardens in just minutes and the pool deck was ready to be walked in only fifteen minutes. Now it looks as good as new and is a safe swimming area.

Every time it rained this Randolph, NJ  basement would get water seeping through the walls. Over time that water created moisture and dampness causing the family to avoid the basement completely. Looking for a company that could provide them with a solution, they discovered Quality 1st Basements online and called for a free estimate.

Quality 1st Foreman Wilver, and his crew installed a TripleSafe sump pump and WaterGuard to keep the basement dry. Both products work together to collect the water seeping through the basement walls and directs it straight to the TripleSafe Sump pump which then pumps the water out and about 15 feet away from the foundation of the home. To stop future moisture and a musty odor from forming, the crew installed a SaniDry Dehumidifier to circulate dry air throughout the basement to create a more comfortable environment.

Job Stories From Randolph, NJ
SunHouse Basement Window Enclosure: A Cure for a Leaking Basement Window in Randolph, NJ

Brian and his wife were concerned when they saw water coming into the basement through one of the windows in their home in Randolph, NJ.  They sought a permanent fix and so Brian called Quality 1st Basement Systems to get a free inspection and free estimate.

Upon arrival, the Quality 1st Basement System’s waterproofing specialist spoke with the homeowners about their concerns and completed a thorough inspection of the basement area, inside and outside.  The window where water was entering was surrounded by a metal window well.  This type of window well typically allows rain water and/or gutter overflow to enter the well area and seep toward the window and foundation wall.   The window well was topped with a plastic cover in an attempt to stave off rainwater, but the generic cover was not fitted for that particular well and gaps were evident where rainwater could get in.  Additionally, there was a nearby downspout that allowed collected rainwater to run into the ground within a foot or two of the window, another likely reason that water was seeping in by the basement window.

The Quality 1st Basement Solution, a SunHouse Basement Window Enclosure, would eliminate some of these issues.  It is a sturdy, light-colored window well with a bottom to prevent vegetation from growing and it is capped with a clear, well-fit cover to keep the rain out, but in this case, the SunHouse Enclosure could not do all of the work its own to be effective in preventing basement window leakage.  The waterproofing specialist needed to ensure that all nearby routes of water be moved away from the problem window area.  He proposed having the downspout discharge run several feet underground into the yard, capping the end with a camouflaged LawnScape outlet.  The sleek LawnScape is designed to disperse the water onto the lawn away from the home.

Brian’s water problems in the basement were resolved with the installation of the durable plastic SunHouse Basement Window Enclosure with sturdy, clear plastic cover in conjunction with the installation of an extended discharge line and LawnScape outlet to direct downspout water away from the home. Quality 1st Basement Systems was happy to have helped!

Tripping Hazard Cured in Almost No Time in Randolph, NJ

Joseph F. from Randolph, NJ wanted to fix a concrete walkway in front of his home that was noticeably sinking and settling.  In actuality, it was a tripping hazard, dropping off at approximately 4”.  He searched on-line and found Quality 1st Basement Systems.  He wanted to know if Quality 1st’s PolyLEVEL process was the solution he was searching for, so he scheduled an appointment for a free estimate.

The PolyLEVEL system is a quick fix for sinking concrete slabs.  The process would involve the injection of structural grade polymers beneath Joseph’s concrete walkway slabs through small holes, lifting and leveling the area; in essence, eliminating the tripping hazard.  The environmentally friendly material used in this process is less porous than concrete and would not wash out or deteriorate in the ground.

Joseph F. agreed to have Quality 1st Basement Systems complete the work and since PolyLEVEL cures within 15 minutes, Joseph’s concrete walkway was ready to be walked on again in almost no time!
