This son of this Fort Lee homeowner noticed that his mother's basement had a large horizontal crack in the cinder block foundation. This homeowner in Fort Lee, New Jersey noticed their concrete sidewalk was sinking and settling. This can happen when concrete is poured over poorly backfilled soil. Over time, this soil settles and creates voids underneath the slab, causing it to become unlevel. If this goes without repair, not only will it look bad, but it could cause someone to injure themselves!
The homeowner searched online for solutions and came across Quality 1st Basement Systems. Our customer care representative booked them an appointment with our System Design Specialist, Dylan McDonald. Dylan provided a thorough inspection and suggested they use polyurethane foam to lift and level the concrete.
A few days later, our foreman Ramon arrived at the home and began the process of using our PolyLevel Injections. This is done by drilling small, penny-sized holes into the concrete and injecting the foam into the voids under the slab. This process is repeated until the concrete slabs are raised and leveled. PolyLevel is a lightweight and environmentally friendly solution, so it will not add any weight to the existing soil.
When the job was complete, the homeowner was happy with the results. They were able to safely walk on their concrete sidewalk without the concern of tripping hazards!
Jamie K.noticed her sidewalks had begun to sink and settle causing tripping hazards in front of her home. With the uneven sidewalks, it became an eyesore and so she wanted to find a solution that would remove the tripping hazards but not cause any disturbance to the front of her home. An existing customer of Quality 1st happened to be neighbors with Jamie and recommended she call for a free concrete lifting estimate.
Jamie was blown away by the presentation the Concrete Repair Specialist, Andy Gagliardi gave. Her fear was that the sidewalk area would have to be replaced and would no longer match the rest of the sidewalk area. PolyLevel would lift and level the existing slabs, causing no disruption to the surrounding area and within 15 minutes of completion, she could use her sidewalk.
Jamie was amazed at the installation processes and extremely satisfied with the results. The tripping hazard was removed and her sidewalk was now stabilized.
Joseph had a damp basement. He already had sump pumps to take care of the water intrusion; however, the water just seemed to keep coming. He figured there had to be a better solution, like interior wall drains. He searched the internet and found Quality 1st Basement Systems.
After contacting Quality 1st Basement Systems, waterproofing specialist Kenny Tramutola visited the home to complete an inspection of the basement. Low on the walls, he noticed efflorescence (white residue from minerals that dissolve in water) and even some areas of wet floor. Kenny provided Joseph with a plan, and a free estimate for sub-floor wall drains. The full-perimeter WaterGuard (designed with a wall flange that creates space to channel and direct incoming water seepage from the walls) is a patented system that will never clog from silt or sediment. Additionally, Joseph needed a TrenchLock trench drain (which spans doorways to collect water from outside and connects to the WaterGuard). Lastly, Kenny suggested that Joseph might want to clean up the walls. Joseph settled on ½ wall CleanSpace, which is a heavy plastic liner that helps prevent water vapor from entering and also helps direct any seepage to the WaterGuard.
Joseph was quite pleased that he got the best in interior wall drains through Quality 1st Basement Systems, and Quality 1st Basement Systems was glad to help create a more secure, drier basement for Joseph.
