A homeowner in Beach Haven, New Jersey noticed water seeping in through their crawl space walls and floors. This can happen because the poorly compacted soil around the home becomes saturated. This saturated soil creates hydrostatic pressure which pushes water through the walls and floors. This can have many negative effects such as dust mites, mold growth, musty smells, pests, increased energy bills, and poor air quality. Upon his inspection, JC noticed the moisture in the crawl space along with the musty smell. He suggested a vapor barrier system to seal the crawl space from the earth.
Our foreman, Juan Garcia, installed the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System which is thick and durable like a pool liner and is mold-proof and water-proof. The installation process requires minimal equipment and disturbance and is done by removing rocks and uneven surfaces. Then, the foreman carefully fits and installs the liner, and permanently holds it in place with drilled-in fasteners and spikes.
When the job was complete, the homeowner was pleased with the results. Their crawl space was given a bright and fresh appearance, giving them the perfect storage space. They no longer have to worry about mold growth or moisture in their crawl space anymore.
