FSI Annual Meeting

July 21st, 2014 by Dan McNally

I recently was lucky enough to visit Omaha for the eight time! Each year, Foundation SupportWorks Inc. hosts a convention and training on how to be a better Foundation SupportWorks (FSI) dealer. All engineers and dealers are training in Omaha, and all of the FSI products are engineered and manufactured there as well. As Quality 1st Basement Systems continues to grow and get better, we know that we must continue to learn, innovate, and progress within each department.

At the High Value Management Training, fifty attendees from across the national dealer network convene to discuss new products, ideas, and techniques so that we can continue to offer unparalleled service to our customers. At FSI, we discuss the fact that the purpose of each estimate is not profit; profit is not the purpose. The purpose of each estimate is to find the best possible solution for each customer's unique needs. Part of the training included the idea that we treat each person we come into contact with whether in passing or at an estimate the way we would treat someone we love. I plan to implement this technique more often and continue to bestow those values onto the rest of the Quality 1st Basement Systems sales team.

My biggest takeaway from the meeting was the focus on WOW! Customer Service. WOW! Service means that we must deliver the best possible service to our customers each day. I want to make sure that each Quality 1st Basement Systems department maintains this thought process and the same lens when interacting with our customers. We want our customers to feel great; they are all of our employers. To continue to hone in on this strategy, I have come up with different ways to unite our departments even more. Sales and Production are married in my eyes. I attend every production meeting and send-off each morning at 7am so that we can go over our customers' experiences together each day.

Omaha was a great resource for me as usual, but not without some fun. The second night of training, our entire group went to a place called "The Vee" where we ate delicious food at the restaurant and had a bowling competition. I am quite proud of my 169! The following night, I was able to spend some time with the California network and enjoy a true Omaha steak. I cannot wait for next year and the successes this training will bring Quality 1st Basement Systems!
