A homeowner in Manasquan, New Jersey noticed their walls were bowing inwards and cracking. This is caused by the expansion of the soil and hydrostatic pressure. When soil gets saturated during periods of rainfall, the soil expands. When it expands in size, it puts a lot of pressure on the basement walls. The pressure becomes more than the wall can handle, and the wall begins to push inwards.
The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Jonathan Seminerio, provided an inspection of the home and helped them find a solution for this issue. He suggested they use a fiber material to permanently stabilize the wall. Our foreman installed the Carbon Armor System which has a fabric quality that makes it flexible to be installed tightly against the basement walls. This system will prevent the wall from bowing inwards and have minimal disruption to the foundation and landscaping.
