This homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems in regards to their cold drafty crawl space that was making the floors on the first level of the home extremely cold. The crawl space had no insulation and water marks along the walls which brought great concern to the homeowner. Quality 1st installed SilverGlo, a heat barrier, to the walls and floors to keep the area and the floors above, warm. Next, a SmartSump pump was installed to keep the basement dry and then a Vapor Barrier liner called CleanSpace over the SilverGlo to seal the crawl space off from water, pests,and moisture while creating a new storage area for the family.

This homeowner in Mountainside, New Jersey noticed their pool patio was becoming unlevel and sinking. This occurs because concrete is often poured over poorly compacted soil. Over time, this soil settles and creates voids underneath the concrete. If this goes without repair, someone could easily trip and injure themselves.

The homeowner did not want this issue to go without a resolution, so they contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems. Our customer care representative booked them an appointment with our System Design Specialist, Joseph DelVecchio. Joseph provided an inspection and suggested they use polyurethane foam to lift and level the concrete.

A few days later, our foreman arrived at the job site and began the process of installing the PolyLevel Injection System. This is done by drilling small, penny-sized holes into the concrete and injecting the foam into the voids underneath. Within 20 minutes, the concrete will be brought to a lifted position and will be safe to walk on. PolyLevel is environmentally friendly and a lightweight solution that will not add any weight to the existing soil.

When the job was complete, the homeowner was happy with the results. They were able to safely walk around their pool without the concrete of tripping hazards!

I have a patio that is 46 feet wide by 20 feet long and is 10 inches thick. Three sections have cracks and have dropped 2 plus inches. I would like to level the patio without removal and replacing.

Hi. I have a covered interior french drain in my basement with 20 or so exposed 1/2" pvc elbows feeding water coming through the cinder blocks down into the drain (instead of weep holes lower on the blocks going directly into the french drain). My uncovered sump pit is fairly small (<15" diameter and not very deep) so the pump is constantly going, and there is water coming in almost daily year round. Also, the underground drain that the pump used to feed water out to the street is now collapsed, so I am interested in your expert opinions on any of the following: improving the french drain, sump hole, sump piping exit options (underground), and/or any other suggestions to keep the basement dry. I can't afford to finish the basement in the foreseeable future, but if possible would like to get it drier in case that becomes a possibility down the road. Thanks!
